Brightenyl

ALSO KNOWN AS: THBG 1

A brightening ingredient that targets uneven skin tone and enlarged pores. Unlike traditional brighteners, it becomes active only once it interacts with the skin, making it a gentler and more skin-friendly approach to brightening. 2

HOW IT WORKS

When applied, Brightenyl® is converted by the skin into an active brightening compound that helps reduce melanin production and improve skin tone. Because it is activated by the skin itself, it works in harmony with the skin's natural processes rather than disrupting them. 1,2

KEY BENEFITS

  • Superior Brightening: Clinically shown to be 60x more effective than kojic acid and significantly more potent than vitamin C in evening out skin tone. 2
  • Pore Refining: Reduces the appearance of enlarged pores by up to 62% in 56 days. 2
  • Redness Reduction: Visibly decreases skin redness and blotchiness through its calming properties. 2
  • Microbiome Friendly: Works in harmony with the skin's ecosystem rather than disrupting it. 2

INTERACTION WARNINGS

Brightenyl is generally well tolerated and works well alongside other brightening actives. As a general reminder, avoid combining Cellexia products with retinol. Those with sensitive skin should patch test before use when combining with other exfoliating or brightening ingredients. 5

FOUND IN

  • Brightenyl® Reduces Melanin Content and UV-Related Dark Spots: Applied as a cream, the active compound in Brightenyl® produced a visible reduction in melanin content in the skin and significantly reduced UV-related dark spots, with results becoming more pronounced with continued daily use over 84 days. 6
  • How the Skin's Own Bacteria Make Brightenyl® Work: Once applied, the skin's microbiome partially converts Brightenyl® into an active brightening compound within a few hours, which then works alongside the original molecule to reduce excess pigmentation. 4
  • Diglucosyl Gallic Acid Outperforms Vitamin C in Brightening and Antioxidant Protection: This study confirmed that diglucosyl gallic acid inhibits the enzyme responsible for melanin production more effectively than vitamin C, and demonstrated strong antioxidant activity. A clinical test on 20 volunteers showed visible brightening and skin tone improvement with twice-daily use, with no adverse effects reported. 7
